DEFECTS CAN BE Hidden IN PLAIN SIGHT

It’s far to common that defects and non-compliant building works get overlooked because builders and tradespeople aren’t up to date with the latest requirements of the National Construction Code (NCC) and relevant Australian Standards. You would think the Building Surveyor would identify issues, but sadly they only conduct four “mandatory” inspections throughout the construction period, rarely committing the time and attention to detail required to extensively review the completed works. As your Home Building Consultant, we conduct construction stage inspections with a meticulous attention to detail, for each and every component of the build. For example, there are at least 5 defects in the photo below, and on this project the relevant Building Surveyor had passed the frame inspection.

Incorrect Timber Lintel.

Bolts connecting SHS into Slab require Chemset.

Ply Brace requires additional fixings.
